Jeremy Hunt faces pressure from his backbenchers to cut taxes ahead of the Autumn Statement. However most UK businesses are not expecting to see a cut in their tax bills any time soon.
Businesses are downbeat about the chances of a reduction on their tax burden in the coming years. Out of 500 mid-market businesses polled, 77% of them are expecting tax rises after the next general election in 2024 with only 23% remaining optimistic about tax cuts.
